 SalineOS 2.0 Development build
« Thread Started on Aug 20, 2012, 8:39am »

The first development of the Debian Wheezy based SalineOS 2.0 is now available for download. New in this release, an installer written from the ground up, a custom firewall utility, brand new backup suite to compliment Remastersys, a total of 32 Thunar custom actions, simple disk cleanup utility, new gtk theme, new icon theme, simple gtk application for handling apt: and pkgkit: links through Packagekit, Exaile is replacing Rhythmbox, Midori is replacing Chromium, baobab and gedit have been removed from the default install, KVM is now included, a simple and straightforward KVM virtual disk creator and manager, a collection of simple scripts for misc actions in SalineOS System Utilities, sudo is now used by default, pulseaudio is now included, and a menu that allows different Midori configurations on a per website basis. Work has also been done to, cleanup the user interface, improve usability and update all the old 1.x scripts with various improvements across the board. Checkout the known issues and grab an image below.

Known Issues:
* The update script on the images is broken, you must update manually through the command line to fix it. Open a terminal and run this line: sudo saline-get update && sudo saline-get dist-upgrade

Magix Driver Installer does not yet have ATI support.

The SalineOS user manual has not yet been updated, and is not included in this release.

The backports repository in /etc/apt/sources.list will have to be activated manually closer to release.

When booting the live image, the screen gets flooded with /etc/fstab errors. This goes away after install.
