 Unusual xfce behaviour
« Thread Started on May 19, 2012, 8:56pm »

I moved the bottom panel to the left vertical. I removed most of the launchers, but when I tried to drag apps from the menu to the left panel, as in all other xfce distros, nothing happened. Why was such a useful feature removed?

This must be a feature that was added in more recent Xfce releases.

I was about to ask this question, so I won't start another thread. It sounds like a matter of waiting and I can wait.

I've been trying out a number of distros (no expert here) and only SalineOS compares to what I started out with in Linux, which was Peppermint Ice, in ease, quickness and stability. It works perfectly on my computer. I'm the quiet type, but I'll take the opportunity to let you know, Anthony, that your work is appreciated. :)

@anthony:
Yes, apparently so. I didn't notice that salineOS used xfce 4.6. I have Xubuntu 12.04 and Mint Debian XFCE installed and both use 4.8.

Hi,

Make an application launcher in Xfce panel ... using appfinder:

Right click on the panel, add a launcher
Launch the application appfinder, search the desired application
Make a click and drag the selected application to the new launcher

All information are filled in automatically!

;)
