Hi, the program WICD didn't find the wireless card, I install all drivers needed. so I decided to check network-manager, which ran fine. We can add networkmanager-gnome ( just small packages needed from gnome) .
I propose to replace wicd by network-manager
best regards bela

I am finding that 95% of networking issues people have can be solved by Network-manager-gnome. So it is very likely it will be the default for the future.

maybe you did not set the wireless interface in the wicd properties, 'wlan0' typed in should do the trick.

For my own personal use, yes, network-manager-gnome is better. This may not be true for everyone. I'm using a Netgear WG111v3 USB WIFI Dongle and it is not recognized by WICD. For me it connects to my router and I use it on a Desktop to save wiring through a wall. The apartment owner frowns on drilling in her plaster. LOL

I second the motion. WiCD wouldn't find my wireless card after a suspend (Dell Precision laptop, 64-bit SalineOS); network-manager works just fine.
I switched to SalineOS a couple of months ago (laptop and desktop machines). Amazing how boring my computing has gotten - nothing breaks any more! No excuse not to do actual work. Sigh.
