Request for Hi Res SalineOS Icon for Menu
« Thread Started on Jan 29, 2011, 4:52pm »

I would like to see if a more artistically inclined person can create a hi res icon with Saline/Beaker such as the one I'm using here:

http://forum.notebookreview.com/linux-co....ed-soonish.html

on NBR (my name is "theZoid"

Our chief "BeakerHead" may want to start a contest thread on this for his decision ::) ;D

wget http://www.salineos.com/images/Salineshirtfinal.png
That image is the highest quality of the logo I have. It was up-sized from 1024 using Inkscape scripts ( That help fill in missing pixels) Then touched up with GIMP. If you can make it better then more power to you, I am no graphics wizard. But, I really could use it as good as it can get :)

I'm a left brained CPA :) I'll see if my GF can so something with it as she's artistic that way and a linux geek to boot :) She's using Sabayon btw :) Thanks for the link!

EDIT: What's the official name? Is it Saline Linux or Saline OS?
EDIT2: I'm trying to find something to use a menu icon

It is either or, SalineOS or Saline Linux. The manual only refers to it as SalineOS though so that is probably more proper. The logo says Linux as SalineOS wasn't long enough to look good on the webpage. Doesn't really matter a rose by any other name smells as sweet ;)

Might not make a bad shirt an arrow pointing up and underneath Beaker Head. With the logo or webpage somewhere on the shirt ...

Edit: Perhaps just proud to be a Beaker Head with the logo somewhere ... Though I still don't know if I like the phrase beaker head. Its mildly entertaining though :P

You extract the SLiM theme to /usr/share/slim/themes then edit /etc/slim.conf and change wave to whatever theme you like. Save the file and you are done :)

Ahhh. I love the wave picture.
I might even reboot just to see the picture. :)
But nice to know where it is.
I like the fish too, but you never know.
