Hi Guys, I may as well post in this thread for starters. I`m Greg, just installed Saline, however not intravenously, although that may be advised.
Noun 1. saline - an isotonic solution of sodium chloride and distilled water saline solution isosmotic solution, isotonic solution - a solution having the same osmotic pressure as blood Adj. 1. saline - containing salt; "a saline substance "; "salty tears" salty - containing or filled with salt; "salt water" Easy install and setup so far, have changed AutoUpdate command to AutoUpdate Testing and will see how I fare. Cheers.

Welcome to the family As of right now there is no difference between AutoUpdate and AutoUpdateTesting. The testing file is for testing backported packages before they are shipped off to all the stable users and won't be any different until backports for Debian Squeeze are started. This will probably begin a month or two after Debian Squeeze is officially released as Debian's current stable.

Hello I posted a screeny in that thread of my install on an AMD 2.4 mhz dual core machine on a 14 gig HD. Install took about 10 minutes total, the Remastersys installer was fine as usual. The only thing I do a little different is that I do the partition with Qtparted first.
I've been trying Debian for the last year or so and when I saw that the wonderful Fragadelic's installer was PROMINENTLY displayed on the desktop, I jumped on Saline.
Any distro that has Fragadelic involved is OK BY ME!!!
btw i "guess" that SOMEbody involved here is a fan of chemistry and/or the ocean!

This must be the official newbies thread. Thusly, I formally convey my presence.
Hi, I'm Chris. I'm a Linux junkie. I'm currently running 2 other Linux distros on this computer, Peppermint OS and wattOS. I found this distro through DistroWatch (you've gotta love the business that DW drums up ) and decided to give it a whirl. And, seeing as how I had some space on my HD and I was looking for a good Linux distro to fill the void, I decided to install it. So far, I'm liking it. I've tried a couple other Debian-based distros and Debian itself and was never fond of any of those but this one seems different. I think it's going to be a good fit for me. I've been meaning to give XFCE a whirl anyway, so this is fortuitous.
Anywho, I'm liking the distro so far and I plan to have a lot of fun with it. Here's what I've got 'er installed on:

A nicer guy than Fragadelic you will not find my friend. Btw, welcome to the forums I must have missed your post earlier.
I have never actually seen an ocean in person, but I have lived close to the Great Lakes in Michigan my entire life.
Sam Mugraby of photos8.com is a great guy too, and one of the benefits of running the Saline OS project is I get to highlight the great works of others. All the backgrounds I use on my PC come from his website, he truly is very talented.

Heh the ocean is pretty great... you live on an island as small as mine for long enough and you get to see plenty .

I was thinking the only way to "recover" would be to be totally re-brainwashed by M$ and return to using Windows solely. *shudders* I know that's not a world in which I want to live.
