If I had to do it again I would use LILO. Right now grub is working fine so I think I'll let that dog lie for a while. New development was started last year so maybe they will add a few missing features.

Anything is better than the Windows bootloader. ;) Especially since those fartknockers apparently rigged the Win7 one so that it will routinely update and overwrite grub (idiots) I'm just glad I don't use Win7, otherwise I'd have to find an alternative bootloader (probably EasyBCD.)

When I installed Saline, it didn't recognize the AntiX and Puppy partitions, so it would only load Saline. I rewrote the Grub 0.97 menu.list in Puppy and re-installed it to the MBR, since Grub2 looks too complicated to bother with. Everything works fine now.

Same here. But I just " sudo os-prober"
If the others are listed.
Then : " sudo update-grub"
Re-boot. Done. ( I personally didn't have to hand edit the file)
