 one year!
« Thread Started on Jan 19, 2012, 10:51am »

In two days, it'll be one year since I joined this forum and installed SalineOS! I'll have to celebrate the occasion with a cold one (or two)!

Excellent distro. Beautiful. Great job, Mr. Nordquist!

You're right. Me too!

Congratulations to Anthony.
Happy Birthday to SalineOS. Released on 17-Jan-2001.
I found it, installed v1.0 and joined this forum on 21-Jan-2001.

It has been my main install for all of this year.
I did backslide for a few weeks in the summer looking for some wireless Nirvana
for a difficult Broadcom chip on an AA1 netbook. (v1.5 works on one but not on the other.)

Other than that, it is a very solid and uneventful distro.
Reminds me of the slogan: "SalineOS: Because speed and stability matter."
Just works.
Only breaks when I do something not recommended, like installing stuff from testing.
Anybody know how to install Midori 0.4.2 in Sos without removing half the installation?

Saludos,
Richard.

Everyone here would readily agree that Debian is the greatest OS ever to come to life. The guys at Ubuntu fixed it to where average Jose could handle it. Clem kicked up a notch with his Mint.
Don Antonio blew them all off the map. It's only a matter of time before the sheep come to the Salty pasture to be fulfilled.Hey ! A cow can find a salt block in a 1,000 acre field. I know ! I have a 1,000 acre field !
Thanks for this OS and your work.
Be patient. "build it and they will come"

Amazing what mint has done over the last year.Linux sluts are hardcore and hard to accept change.
I still have friends that are Slackware worshipers.OOOOooboy.
It's just a matter of time before they ask to "please pass the salt".

Let's not stoop that low. OK ? ;D

AOL CDs made great coasters, and were used in some pretty good "modern" art projects in their day.

Wow that year went by fast. And I've seen a couple of other distros come and go in the same time frame.

Great job Anthony and Beardedragon. Ya I know The Bearded one is just a Mod but that frees up Anthony to to fix bugs and put out updates.
