| | Why Rhythmbox? [solved] « Thread Started on Apr 26, 2011, 4:17pm » | |
While was uninstalling rhythmbox, i noticed that this program alone has about 80 MB of dependencies. So i was wondering if it is the best choice for default music player. I understand that Saline isn't Puppy, but i don't think rhythmbox is any better than the others - and is much more heavyweight. Just the suggestion.

Rhythmbox provides plugins for Magnatune and Jamendo. For just playing music it uses almost exactly the same amount of RAM as Exaile does. Now it does take a whole lot more disk space and adds a bunch of random dependencies, but I am not overly concerned about preserving disk space at the cost of functionality.

IMHO Rhythmbox is the best full-featured music player of the Linux world... I used a bit Amarok/Clementine, Banshee, and other, but RB is the best... Glad to see it here !

Fair enough reason, i'll mark it as solved.
