 Slim Command 4 desktop?
« Thread Started on May 18, 2012, 11:15pm »

I have been updating my video card drivers using the recent and multiple nvidia updates.
I basically download the file and use this cmd under slim.

gksu killall slim
cd (directory of run file)
sh ...run

Problem is I have no idea how to re-enable the desktop and revert to using the reset button. Would someone please kindly give me that cmd? Kind of a simple question and I wasn't sure where to put it. TYVM

Use sgfxi to install the drivers, it is automatic and has instructions in the user manual. This will start the desktop for you.

That said the answer to your question is, startx or slim or reboot to avoid the button. It is best you reboot after installing the video driver, but isn't strictly needed.

Thanks anthony. I tried sgfxi and it wanted to reinstall the ones I had. I'll use reboot next time.
