Suggest using Geeqie instead of Ristretto. Why: Because Ristretto can not print, while Geeqie can.

Having Ristretto print images would be really nice, even I have to admit that. Ristretto is a simple program for doing a simple task and I am unlikely to replace it for 2.0.
Having an easy way to print images and text files for that matter is fairly important though. For this reason I will look creating a Thunar custom action for this.

Geeqie might be a good suggestion. In any case, I've been adding Geeqie to every Linux installation I do for some time now (and GQView prior to Geeqie), so the default doesn't matter much.

I just found geeqie. I've been using gwenview but it brings lots of Kde4 baggage.
A Thunar action would be a great help.
Thanks.

Is this the official 2.0 app suggestions thread ?!!
If so, i would like to suggest adding in some type of disk encryption option during the Saline install process.

Xfe 1.32.5-1, x file explorer, is a two pane file manager that is super fast and ships with a package manager, text viewer, text editor, and image viewer which also prints. The image viewer, xvi, is as fast as ristretto but much better. I would remove ristretto from the goodies altogether and have xfe installed as it is quite powerful. I was a fan of nautilus but removed it from the startup and find fewer processes in xfce process mgr & now only use xfe or thunar and it's custom actions packages. I like opening xfe and seeing two panes almost instantly whereas with nautilus I was always reaching for the F3 key and waiting for it to load. Even thunar which runs at boot, takes a minute to open when you first open it which I find rather annoying.

Yes it is. Disk encryption is possible, but no promises.
