Is it possible to load our own pictures for avatars? I'm sure gimp would make what ever size limit you may want to have.

Also after making a post your are returned to the top of the page witch is fine but would be better at the bottom or to your post.

Thanks!!

The forums are hosted by a third party at the moment so we don't have much control over behavior like that. Sorry for the inconvenience :)

That's where having your own online storage area comes in handy. I just uploaded mine to my WordPress account and linked to it here. :)

If you click on profile on the top bar and then click modify profile you will find a box labeled Avatar URL:

The text next to it reads:
"If you would like to use your own custom avatar, enter the full http:// URL to it in this box. You can specify your own custom width and height for your avatar. Avatars must be no more than 100x100 pixels".

You can have your own avatar its just necessary to do what scifidude79 has done and upload it to your own host and then link to it.

Photobucket, ImageShack and Flickr are a few others that would be good for avatars. Before I started my blog, I used to have a Photobucket account and I'd use that for avatars on forums that didn't allow you to upload one. Just make sure you use the direct link code and not the thumbnail code. ;)

No problem, I like to help where I can. :) I do 3D art, so I'm a member of some forums and in recent months I've joined the forums of my favorite Linux distros and I love avatars, so I'm used to the avatar thing.
