 1.0 Stable Release
« Thread Started on Jan 17, 2011, 12:16am »

I am proud to announce the immediate availability of the first SalineOS stable release a fast and full featured operating system using Xfce as the graphical desktop environment. Debian Squeeze is now in deep freeze making it stable enough for everyday use on desktop, laptop and netbook computers. SalineOS 1.0 will follow Debian Squeeze's Stable branch and receive automatic updates from the official Debian backports repositories until the subsequent releases of SalineOS 2.0 and Debian 7.0 Wheezy. I would like to take this time to thank Debian for being the best base anyone could ever ask for, Tony Brijeski for creating the Remastersys project, the developers of sgfxi for allowing easy installation of proprietary graphics drivers and kr0k3tt for helping with the SalineOS website.
