 WIFI stuff.
« Thread Started on Oct 16, 2011, 9:24pm »

Hi guys. Can someone recommend a system where my cabin guests can access my internet ?
I used to have a Mac donut that would go 50 feet or so from my office. It died ( 2 of them) :-[ I need to reach about 300 feet , through the rainforest, to my cabins. The cabins are about 75 feet below my main house. Is this just a dream or does such hardware exist ?
I can stick something 50 feet in the air if I need to.
I stood on the porch of the cabins and the roof of the main house (28 feet) was barely visible, so I can add 20 feet with ease.
Line of sight ?

Considering the distances you are talking about there are several options. Here are a couple of links, the first one gives you up to .5 miles outside:

Why get a setup that will work for 375 feet when you could get one that will work for several miles ;D

Edit: Like all the best things in life, some assembly required.

Uh .5 miles is 2640 feet radius, but. if you want. become an ISP and broadcast farther.
