Is anybody else seeing a problem with the 1.1 installer, it won't quit, I'm installing from a flash drive and it keeps running "Copying the files to the TARGET System...Please Wait", looking at the flash drive there is no activity, the installer just won't quit and this is my second try with the 1.1 installer.
I will try any suggestions?
I had no problem with 1.0 installer from a flash drive and yes, I did check the md5sum.
I should have added this is the AMD64 iso.

There are only minimal changes to the installer since 1.0. These are rather minor, the timezone selection screen was made nicer and it now properly finds other operating systems with grub-install. How did you make the USB stick bootable?

If you followed my guide you should follow the steps for using the USB key for other purposes before trying to dump another ISO image on the disk.

You caught me using 'unetbootin' like I always do, it worked fine for 1.0, why it did not work for 1.1 I have no idea!?!
I used the Saline USB install directions and it has worked fine for two installs, thanks to all who replied.

Unetbootin worked on the 1.0 images I believe, because they weren't hybrid images to begin with. But, I am not 100% sure on this. The 1.1 images are hybrid images by default, this makes using my guide easier (As I took some steps out of the guide). Either way I only support making USB keys my way. Any other way your results may vary.

I am doing a survey on unetbootin, because I've never had any success with it except when running it on an ubuntu os.
Could you tell me which os you where using with unetbootin?

I just used unetbootin to make a LiveUSB stick for SalineOS-1.1, [on my desktop with Sos1.0 fully updated.] The key point is that you must format the USB as FAT32 for unetbootin.
Installed it onto my EeePc with no problems. Overwrote a perfectly good Sos1. But now I have a stock system, fresh out of the box.
Except: the newly installed Sos1.1 fails to mount the same pen drive after rebooting [Edit: I took the pendrive out which according to the icon on the desktop was unmounted; and inserted and mounted as expected in the desktop with Sos1.0 fully updated.
So, it's not a problem of the pen drive or how it was created, in so far as I can tell.]
I guess I need to see if xfce4-volman or some such is missing? [What is it that handles mounting in Sos1.1?]
Richard.

Richard, please see my guide on USB sticks in the installation and setup board. Follow the instructions for using your USB key for other purposes. There is some strange filesystem that gets left on the USB key. The fix I have for this random issue is to zero the key out.

Does the command for zeroing the key out leave it unformatted and/or unallocated?

It will remove absolutely everything from the key, including the partition table. You can then add a partition table and a filesystem with Gparted.

That is what I normally do after using my key for dumping an installation image on to it otherwise I am not able to mount it.
The dd command used for dumping an image on to a key, always wipes out the formatting. So I'm confused why I should zero it out first.

Because, I tested it and it doesn't work like you and I expect it to. My guide is written out of my experiences, your mileage may vary.

I put some notes in my post above.
The problem is any pen drive I try to mount on the fresh Sos1.1 install. Maybe it is the method of creation?
I will wipe that USB key according to Anthony's instructions and rebuild it. I'll zero it out. (That is a life-saver when you get a USB key that doesn't want to format.)
I'll be back in a bit with more news.
