I agree to the other members!! I used SalineOS earlier this year and found it very well. Then I tried to adjust the softwaresources to get it more unstable like sid and it went wrong. As a distrohopper(see my weblog:http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=2810515875955634187#allposts) I try every week other distributions so I went on, but did never forget SalineOS. I downloaded in oktober the newest version and told myself when the time has come I will reinstall it. So I did now and I am very happy. It works fine and light on my laptop Dell Latitude D520. I will tell in my next weblog about this wonderful distro and will tell you all in this forum. Keep up the good work with friendly greetings from Holland!!!

yes it is a nice ditro but comes with few things that would need a rethinking of.

1. why include chromium that is miles behind the real chrome(no addons are able to install becouse of nonecompatible *like adblockers and flash blockers ,which is important to some people)

2.nd I had some issues on one of my 2 pcs with sound mixer not working and getting 'Gstreamer cannot find any sound card devices, blahblahblah it could be a permissions issues or missing something" Indeed it was missing something LOL I had to uninstall alsa libs and reinstall libs for sound and then it worked fine...

3. well aside from that the java also didnt work ..... tried it on pogo.com and nada (other distros has no problems to run on there)

last but not least , thank you for this distro, it is nice and light ,quick as lightning but still needs work .

Great distro none the less!

I agree about the browser and that's why I use Iceweasel through backports. Anthony is too but his choice may not be that much better. Firefox is huge for a DVD and Google is too snoopy to be trusted.

Strange I've never had a problem with sound in Saline or Debian.

That's because Debian no longer installs sun-java. Oracle pretty much killed that bird and would expect other Distros to have the same problem over the next year or two.

One of the better Xfce distros out there IMHO.
