If I had to do it again I would use LILO. Right now grub is working fine so I think I'll let that dog lie for a while. New development was started last year so maybe they will add a few missing features.

Anything is better than the Windows bootloader. Especially since those fartknockers apparently rigged the Win7 one so that it will routinely update and overwrite grub (idiots) I'm just glad I don't use Win7, otherwise I'd have to find an alternative bootloader (probably EasyBCD.)

When I installed Saline, it didn't recognize the AntiX and Puppy partitions, so it would only load Saline. I rewrote the Grub 0.97 menu.list in Puppy and re-installed it to the MBR, since Grub2 looks too complicated to bother with. Everything works fine now.

Same here. But I just " sudo os-prober" If the others are listed. Then : " sudo update-grub" Re-boot. Done. ( I personally didn't have to hand edit the file)
